Our Mission
Thousands of dogs of all ages and in all conditions are abandoned to their fate daily in Peru, exposed to diseases and many other life-threatening situations.
That is why our goal is to find a space to increase our capacity to continue taking in so many dogs in critical situations, where we can also continue to carry out sterilization campaigns to cover as many cases as possible.
Get to know us
Cruzada por la Vida was created in 1995 with the sole purpose of helping animals in situations of mistreatment, danger and/or vulnerability.
Years later, the campaign “Save the Dolphins” was developed, obtaining as main result the absolute prohibition of indiscriminate hunting that this species had been suffering via the repeal of Law No. 26585 of March 29, 1996.
Awareness of the issue was really raised.
Extensive work was also carried out at the Ministry of Fisheries to see how fishermen interact with sea lions.
What Crusade has been doing
Sterilization Campaigns
Rescue and Rehabilitation
We make every effort to restore the physical and emotional health of the dogs we rescue, ideally by finding them homes. We find dogs that have been run over, that have lived tied up, mistreated and in inhumane conditions. These dogs suffer from the full range of diseases and disabilities that an animal living on the streets can have.
Street Animal Rescue
Millions of abandoned dogs on the streets of Peru suffer physical and emotional pain due to mistreatment, neglect, hunger and disease.
Always trying to provide treatment, medicine and food to as many dogs as we can.
Despite Crusade’s efforts, our work only scratches the surface of the problem.
Adoptions
After so much suffering and with the proper treatment the dogs are in the right conditions to be adopted.
Cruzada always strives to find a home for each rescued dog where they can finally live with the love and care they deserve.
Awareness about dog adoptions
For Cruzada, it is vital to make people aware of what it means to have a pet in the right conditions, thus providing them with the care, attention and affection they need. If you are interested in learning more about our work, we invite you to watch this video by clicking on “See more”.
